The theme of the intervention is focused on the transformation scenarios of cities in the coming years, from the perspective of ecological transition and the fight against climate change. Stefano Boeri will elaborate on the idea of Smart Forest City, a city devised as an energy self-sufficient settlement that allows for the development of a circular economy around the use of the territory's specific natural resources, as well as being at the forefront in terms of clean mobility.
Stefano Boeri, architect and urban planner, is a full professor at the Milan Polytechnic. His work ranges from planning architecture and urban visions to design, with a constant focus on the geopolitical and environmental implications of urban phenomena. Attention to the relationship between cities and living nature led to the construction of the Vertical Forest in Milan in 2014. As one of the main players in the debate on climate change in the field of international architecture, he is co-chair of the scientific committee of the World Forum on Urban Forests (Mantua, 2018) and chairs the Scientific Committee of Forestami.
